College For Sure CBO
“When you’re 17, and pretty much doing it all on your own, the sight of all the hurdles you have to jump can be demoralizing, even paralyzing.”* Therefore, after careful thought and planning, CFSCBO is offering an annual scholarship to help students with this very real dilemma. CollegeForSureCBO is a non-profit, community-based organization (CBO).
About Us
Our primary goal is simple – to level the playing field for high-achieving, underserved, minority youth when it comes to college admissions. We seek to make a difference in students’ lives by navigating them through every phase of the college preparation and college application processes. We encourage minority students to consider STEM studies and careers. Our approach is direct and compassionate.
In addition, students will have access to state of the art, Custom College Planning, and Essay Management software. Considerable time and effort are dedicated to college essay and application review and editing.
Our Mission
CollegeForSureCBO was born out of Executive Director Cynthia DeBerry Flowers’ desire to reach more minority students, who have the least but who excel academically and socially despite unbelievable odds. Cynthia’s commitment and passion for these students are a testament to her faith and her mother’s dreams regarding education.
Student Application Process
Students are required to submit an application that will document their academic credentials, school, and community involvement. Holistic application review and interview techniques are used to select finalist(s) year to year; then, our staff works tirelessly and strategically to determine the best college fits with the best probabilities of acceptance and a successful collegiate experience. To achieve this, we assist the students with high school course selections, provide SAT/ACT diagnostic testing, career, and aptitude assessments, assist with completing financial aid applications, and identify scholarship resources.

I wish I had one more child to apply all the knowledge gained by using your services. I also wish I had found CFS earlier like maybe sophomore year. I think the program helps instill confidence in applying to not so well known schools and provides guidance on how to avoid common pitfalls and mistakes.
